Brandon Kim, a senior at Culver City High School, helped to found YAWP in May 2020, and is its editor in chief. He also serves as editor in chief of his school newspaper, The Centaurian, in addition to a Second Reader for the literary magazine Polyphony Lit.
Brandon has been recognized by several competitions, including the Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards and Letters about Literature, in addition to being admitted to a number of youth writing conferences. These include the California State Summer School for the Arts, the Kenyon Young Writers’ Conference, the Iowa Young Writers’ Studio, and the Medill-Northwestern Journalism Institute. His work has also been published in the Blue Marble Review.
When not writing, reading, or editing, Brandon can be found on the slopes of the local Baldwin Hills, where he currently works as an intern for the L.A. Audubon-run Baldwin Hills Greenhouse Program. He also enjoys running, hiking, watching baseball, and spending time with his family.
